Changes at GHCAA

Green Hills Community Action Agency has been advised by federal and state entities to prepare for a 50% reduction in its Community Service Block Grant (CSBG) funding beginning October 1, 2011. Community Action Agencies nationwide utilize CSBG funding to support outreach offices in local communities and many, including GHCAA, are faced with closing these local service-access points.

To meet future budget targets, Green Hills Community Action Agency will be implementing immediate changes to its outreach system. The agency will be going to a centralized staffing pattern, with services being provided out of the Central Office in Trenton, MO after July 22, 2011.

While GHCAA will not have a physical office open in each county after July 22nd, residents can still receive assistance and access all services with little to no interruption. Individuals in the Green Hills Region (which includes the counties of: Caldwell, Daviess, Grundy, Harrison, Linn, Livingston, Mercer, Putnam, and Sullivan) are asked to contact GHCAA by dialing their local office number as they have in the past. As always, staff will be able to connect residents to GHCAA services and provide information on resources available within local communities.

Again, GHCAA will be closing its county outreach offices after July 22nd. To receive assistance and access services, residents are asked to contact GHCAA by dialing their local office number.
